EmpowerHer Tomorrow Executive Director Elected MUSO Vice President at Mzumbe University
Tanzania — EmpowerHer Tomorrow Initiative proudly announces that its Executive Director, Veronica Bey, has been elected as the Vice President of the Mzumbe University Student Organization (MUSO) for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Veronica’s election is a significant milestone, not only for Mzumbe University’s student leadership but also for young women in Tanzania who aspire to lead in spaces historically underrepresented by youth and women. A champion of climate justice, gender equality, and youth engagement, Veronica has consistently demonstrated servant leadership through her work with EmpowerHer Tomorrow.
Under her direction, EmpowerHer recently completed the “Youth Voices for Gender-Responsive Climate Policies” project, reaching over 900 young women and girls across Tarime District with climate education, leadership training, and policy engagement opportunities.
Her new role as MUSO Vice President offers a broader platform to advance the causes she cares about—especially meaningful youth participation in governance and sustainable development.
“We are incredibly proud of Veronica’s achievement,” said Eunice Okama, Programme Lead at EmpowerHer. “Her election reflects the power of youth-led leadership and reaffirms our mission to equip young women to take up space in all spheres—community, climate, and campus.”
